Over the years we’ve had patients come into our office for every reason under the sun. Of course there are the common things like back pain, headaches, ear aches, throat infections and menstrual cramps. Then there are the not so common…multiple sclerosis, anxiety, seizures, Parkinson’s, kidney shrinkage, even paralysis.
The one common denominator that drives all these people to seek help is loss of function. They have lost the ability to function at the level they would like. This loss creates motivation and the person seeks out help.
Although these people come in for many reasons, they stay for only one. Whether or not the function returns, the pain subsides, or they feel like a million bucks, people only stay because they want to be their best. This is what we teach and preach all day long. You need to be your best and stay well.
All things in life need to be stewarded. Health is no exception; in fact it should be a top priority. It is far superior to pour into your health than it is to try and fight disease. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. People dying prematurely state that one of their biggest regrets is not focusing more on their health.
Since your brain powers your body, and your spine is the way this power gets out to your body, it is critical that your spine be healthy. This means so much more than being pain or symptom free. That power that runs through your spine controls your organs and gives health to your entire being. Often, you will never feel a symptom of lost organ function until it is too late.
Be one of the wise ones. Steward your health and stay well. Don’t just react to dysfunction.
Be Blessed,
Dr Matt
